Senior Obedience Trainer / Instructor

Our busy kennels requires another professional to join our team.  The chosen applicant must have a proven record in off lead obedience training with excellent communication and instructional skills as well as sound knowledge of all breeds, temperaments and problem solving.

The successful applicant will be required to assess dogs for suitability for our live-in training programmes, complete the required standard in the time allocated and demonstrate the dogs new obedience skill to the client, including a private lesson and then instruct new handlers in follow-up classes. 

The applicant must be a well presented fit and active person capable of handling and controlling large working breeds including security dogs.

Other duties will include general kennel/cattery care of boarding pets.  Feeding, cleaning, washing and attending to customers at Reception. The applicant must have good numeracy and literacy skills and be familiar with entering information into a computer database.

Hours of work will include Mon-Sat with two alternating shifts from 7.00am to 12.00 or 12.00 to 5.00pm. Additional hours are available for private one hour lessons with customers on an appointment basis.

The successful applicant must have own reliable transport and be flexible with changing working roster.
